यहाँ सामान्य फूलों की खेती नहीं होती, बल्कि घने जंगलों में पाई जाने वाली जड़ी-बूटियाँ और वनस्पतियाँ ही मधुमक्खियों का मुख्य स्रोत होती हैं।
पचमढ़ी की मधुमक्खियाँ इन जड़ी-बूटियों और वनस्पतियों के रस (पराग) से शहद तैयार करती हैं।
